Togo Fireside Chair by Ligne Roset

The Togo fireside chair is the single-seat version of Michel Ducaroy's 1973 design, and the piece most people mean when they say "Togo chair." It sits low, with no frame and no hard edges, so it works as a reading chair, a lounge chair or a pair beside a sofa.

How it's made

Togo has no frame and no hard edges. It is built entirely from three densities of foam, wrapped in a polyester-quilted cover whose folds give Togo its famous crumpled look. The result is soft but supportive, and low to the floor. Made in France by Ligne Roset.

The covers are oversized and fitted by hand. If a Togo ever needs recovering, Ligne Roset recommends its factory recovery service for a perfect fit.

Fabric and leather

Togo is made to order in Ligne Roset fabrics, microfiber or leather. Fabric grades A through R, microfiber grade S and leather grades U, V and X are priced by grade, so the price changes with the cover you choose. Canvas and leather wear best on Togo's quilted shape.
