Quick Ship Stemlite Floor Lamp by Gubi

The Quick Ship Stemlite Floor Lamp by Gubi is a modern reimagination of the pioneering 1962 Stemlite designed by American Designer Bill Curry. This lamp revolutionized the traditional base-plus-shade form, replacing it with a single self-contained unit comprising interchangeable modules.

The remastered collection by Gubi includes two table lamps, two floor lamps, and a new pendant, all in a contemporary yet authentic color palette. The design remains true to Curry’s vision, encompassing the original heights and a new pendant light engineered by an inversion of the original design. To meet contemporary safety requirements, a hidden counterweight in the negative space ensures stability, and versions with new larger globes are also available.

Embracing its historical significance, the Stemlite was named "most influential lamp of the year" by Industrial Design Magazine in 1965 and was even used on the set of the original Star Trek TV series. Now, it has been brought back by Gubi after almost half a century, offering a timeless yet contemporary addition to any space.
