Drape Composition 1 Pendant by SkLO

The Drape Composition 1 is a multi-pendant fixture with 2 pendants suspended from a single canopy. Each pendant is suspended on a fabric-wrapped electrical cord. The center pendant hangs straight down from the canopy and features a 7"/180mm diameter diffuser of handblown glass. The outer pendant is swagged to a ceiling hook (included) and features a smaller, 4.5"/110mm diameter diffuser of handblown glass. The glass diffusers are available in both "dipped" glass, featuring the SkLO double-dipped flame-polished mouth and "textured" glass, featuring a soft, frosted finish and subtle sculpted vertical ridges. Cord lengths are field adjustable.

Glass shaped by hand

The glass spheres of the Drape Composition 1 Pendant are formed by hand, allowing them to be slightly imperfect to express their handmade origins. The "dipped" glass options feature an irregular, open mouth, created by double-dipping the piece into the molten glass crucible, followed by breaking the piece from the pipe and fire-polishing the opening - a purposeful expression of craft and the act of glassblowing. The "textured" glass diffusers have no opening. Their surface is frosted and features a subtle pattern of lines etched into the glass for a moody and classic look.

Small but flexible

A simple design, a way to add a second light to a single minimal pendant. Elegant on its own above a kitchen sink or as a bedside pendant, the Drape Composition 1 Pendant works in multiples over kitchen islands or in hospitality environments. The ability to field-adjust the cord lengths and change the relationships between the heights or horizontal distances between the two pendants offers many different looks and the possibility to work with architectures.

The Drape collection is an investigation into the potential behind the idea of a simple cord-suspended glass pendant that displays the quality and variation of SkLO handblown glass. It begins, necessarily, with the basic Drape Pendant itself. But from there, minimal additions are made - opportunities to enhance the structure, scale, and design of the diverse series comprising the Drape collection, including the Drape Circle, Drape Arm, Drape Skirt, and many more.
