289 Chair with Arms by Ligne Roset

The 289 chair, designed by Pierre Guariche and manufactured by Les Huchers de Minvielle in the 1950s and 1960s, is a perfect example of the French modernist design of the time, combining functionality, lightness, and minimalist elegance. Guariche favoured innovative materials for the time, such as tubular metal and moulded plywood, while ensuring optimal comfort. Guariche, known for his functional and aesthetic approach to furniture, designed this chair with a focus on ergonomics and simplicity. The 289 chair fits equally well in private and public spaces, illustrating the timelessness of French industrial design.
