Hold Pendant by SkLO

An expressive glass vessel that appears to droop from its hook as if molten serves as a shade on this pendant. Available in two sizes. The glass shade hangs from a double-ended brass hook, custom fabricated to the specified length. The hook hangs from a loop at the canopy. The brass socket is suspended on an exposed fabric-wrapped electrical cord from the loop at the canopy and suspends the light bulb within the opening at the top of the glass.

The craft of glassblowing

• The simple gesture of the glass element of the Hold Pendant, appearing to stretch from its hook, is meant as a pure expression of the craft of glassblowing.
• Each one is created, one at a time, entirely by hand, by skilled Czech glassblowers.
• Intentionally different every time, no two are alike, giving individuality to each one, and an organic composition to the group when used in multiples.

Simplicity of glass and brass

The relationship between the beauty of the handblown glass and the means used to bring light to it in SkLO lighting designs is philosophically approached in such a way that the priority is placed on maintaining the elemental simplicity of the handblown glass elements. In the Hold Pendant, the cord is left exposed and simply suspends the socket within the glass, to allow the relationship between the glass and the hook it hangs from as pure as possible. By taking advantage of the many different options available in both metal finish and fabric-wrapped cord colors, different takes on this expression are possible.
