The inspiration for the Momos collection came from a trip to northern Brazil more than twenty years ago, when a local textile craft in the state of Maranhão caught the attention of José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales. Since then, that curious fabric remained in his memory until, with the embroidery experience and skill of our GAN Women Unit artisans, he managed to reinterpret it and translate it into this unique textile collection of rugs, poufs, and cushions with a three-dimensional texture.
Craftsmanship from different parts of the world is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for GAN. The Momos embroideries reinterpret those of traditional Brazilian textile art, whose geometry and structure recall those of butterfly eggs. This results in a three-dimensional fabric, with a very light felted wool texture that provides a complete sensory experience. The embroiderers from our social project in India knew how to perfectly understand and reinterpret the fabrics of Brazilian craftsmanship, guided by José A. Gandía-Blasco Canales.
The Anthracite rug from the Momos collection features a matching pouf and cushion with which casual environments can be created. It is a model also available in camel color, as well as in two sizes, 170x240 cm and 200x300 cm.
Vacuum regularly without a beater bar and blot spills right away. For deeper cleaning, use a professional rug cleaner.
