Drape Linear 9 Chandelier by SkLO

The Drape Linear Chandeliers are a series of fixtures consisting of multiple individual pendants gathered into a straight line and supported by a flat brass bar. Each pendant features a 4.5"/110mm diameter diffuser of handblown Czech glass suspended on a fabric-wrapped electrical cord. The cords pass through and are affixed to the bar and are evenly spaced around its length. The glass diffusers are available in both "dipped" glass, featuring the SkLO double-dipped flame-polished mouth and "textured" glass, featuring a soft, frosted finish and subtle sculpted vertical ridges. Cord lengths are field adjustable.

Glass shaped by hand

The glass spheres of the Drape Linear Chandelier are formed by hand, allowing them to be slightly imperfect to express their handmade origins. The “dipped” glass options feature an irregular, open mouth, created by double-dipping the piece into the molten glass crucible, followed by breaking the piece from the pipe and fire-polishing the opening – a purposeful expression of craft and the act of glassblowing. The “textured” glass diffusers have no opening. Their surface is frosted and features a subtle pattern of lines etched into the glass for a moody and classic look.

Straight lines a must

The straight-line geometry of the Drape Linear Chandeliers satisfies the needs of so many traditional shapes of both furniture and rooms. Perfect over rectangular dining tables long and short, or kitchen islands. Rectilinear modern rooms and vaulted spaces call out for minimal, simple linear chandeliers such as this to work within their challenging spaces.

The Drape collection is an investigation into the potential behind the idea of a simple cord-suspended glass pendant that displays the quality and variation of SkLO handblown glass. It begins, necessarily, with the basic Drape Pendant itself. But from there, minimal additions are made – opportunities to enhance the structure, scale, and design of the diverse series comprising the Drape collection, including the Drape Circle, Drape Arm, Drape Skirt, and many more.
