Le Brésil Wallpaper by Isidore Leroy
This famous décor, designed by Louis-Joseph Fuchs for Desfossé in 1862, features lush tropical vegetation and a multitude of exotic birds, peacocks, parrots, and ibises, reflecting the fascination with botanical discoveries during the Second French Empire. A true technical feat for its time. This reissue is based on an original example now preserved at the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris. Our teams carried out meticulous restoration work to offer you an unprecedented level of quality. In 1947, Isidore Leroy acquired the archives of the Manufacture Desfossé et Karth, itself the publisher of the archives of Joseph Dufour. Today, Isidore Leroy aims to revive the Joseph Dufour and Desfossé brands, beginning this new chapter with the reissue of celebrated panoramic designs from these major names in the history of French wallpaper. For more than a year, we have been committed to innovating in the field of restoration, using new reconstruction techniques in order to offer reissues of these designs with unprecedented quality.
