Hexagon Stool Teak by Tribu
Marc Merckx's Hexagon tables prove that nature is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for new designs. The side tables' teak support refers to the hexagonal basalt pillars of the Giant's Causeway, a rock formation in Northern Ireland that has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Moreover, Merckx swears by sophisticated proportions, which is why the perfect symmetry of the honeycomb was his second source of inspiration. The Hexagon table top is made of handcrafted glazed lava stone with a subtle craquelure effect that highlights the natural imperfections in the stone. The coloured glaze, applied by hand, ensures that the top is water, heat, frost, UV, and stain-resistant. Hexagon is equally beautiful on its own as in a multiunit layout.
