The intent of this design was to create a warm and welcoming home away from home for short term guests of residents at a prominent downtown Austin condo tower. We designed each room to be unique yet cohesive by creating a juxtaposition that is both relaxing and stimulating; just like a stay in Austin should be.

There are 3 Guest Suites in The Independent and each Guest Suite features a distinctive color theme, graphic wallpaper, and color-blocked wainscoting. We included personal touches throughout each space including enticing books that feature Austin icons.

The design of each suite is connected through FF&E (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), along with lighting and accessory selections. Each space maintains its own individuality and voice through color story, furniture layout, art (framed Polaroids taken by a skilled local photographer). The lounge furniture also speaks to varying guest personas.

We’ve thoughtfully appointed each room with fresh linens, bespoke accessories, luxury sundries, hairdryers/iron, and beverage makers to prepare complimentary coffee and tea. Each room also features a custom desk with a hidden mini-fridge and storage for everyday essentials.
