Ipno is a suspension appliance with a magical effect – its all-clear body shapes light with high-level emission control, obtained through soft and curvy geometries. Inside a craft blown crystal glass, an innovative optical unit directs and concentrates light on a glazed part of the bottom surface of the outer body to diffuse and open it up with soft direct emission. The glazed surface conceals the inside of the optical device from direct sight to prevent glaring. The inner optical unit works according to a Total Internal Reflection (TIR) principle to direct emission; it comes to life when light passes through the material, but only a minimum rate of light is emitted into the environment in a diffused and uncontrolled manner.
